2 THINGS EVERYONE NEEDS: A MIRACLE AND GOD’S HELP

In the race of life, everyone needs these two things and more from God.  His help, miracles and His handiwork at play perpetually. This is so true as exemplified in the following scenarios and real-life cases.

These scenarios highlight the irony of life experienced by people on the different ends of the spectrum. While some have numerous children but limited financial resources for their proper upkeep and upbringing, others have no children and spouses of their own to spend their resources on and for companionship.

Biblical Examples of People Who Need God’s Help and Miracle

Everyone who needs God's help and miracle

1. Abraham was a man blessed by God, wealthy in material possessions, but he had no child to inherit him until he implored the mercies of God for the promised son, Isaac.

2. The same can be said of the righteous Zechariah, a priest and his wife, Elizabeth. They served God faithfully, yet they had no children of their own until God favoured them in their old age with John the Baptist. The wife, Elizabeth was even nicknamed ‘barren’.

3. Naaman was a commander and a mighty man of valour but was humbled and handicapped with leprosy. He eventually had to seek the help of the almighty God through the prophet Elisha. His leprosy was ultimately healed and he became whole again.

4. A story is told of a Centurion whose servant was sick to death until he sought Jesus’ intervention for healing. This centurion, though influential and well-to-do, could not restore the health of his cherished servant and had to seek God’s help.

5. Isaac had all he needed, yet he had no wife to comfort him in his sorrows and loneliness following his mother’s death. God helped him find a suitable wife by guiding his Father’s servant on the journey to seek one for Isaac. He was comforted by his God-led wife.

6. Jabez, though described as honourable, manifested nothing honourable in life. He eventually prayed that the Lord would bless him, enlarge his coast and deliver him from all evil.
Some believers though honourable and well thought of in society are financially handicapped and suffer setbacks and economic humiliation. Jabez’s prayer is a model and a template to adopt in such instances.
James 1:13 explains it further, “Is anyone among you suffering? Let him Pray”. Prayer is the antidote which grants us access to God’s help and miracles.

These examples testify that many, including some prominent and high-profile individuals in society may have little to no financial limitations but need to seek God’s help – whether for their ailing health, disabilities or inability to have children, or singlehood.

Lessons For Seekers of God’s Help and Miracle

Lessons for People Who need God's help
  1. Boss, colleague, senior, etc. seek the help of God in constant prayer as opposed to seeking affirmation, admiration, applause and endorsement of men. Truth is, God’s care transcends the care of man. The Adamic, carnal nature of men propels them to ridicule, slander or look down on you in your absence. They will make a mockery of your low societal status, financial status, ailing health, singleness,  divorcement, childlessness, child’s disability or incapacitation, among others.
  2. Study and meditate on God’s word and promises for your life’s situation. Dwell in those scriptures as they embolden you to seek God’s help specifically. Bible scholars have said, there is a word for every problem in the Bible. Find them and seek God with them as God has exalted His word above His name (Psalm 138:2) and is faithful to reward those who diligently seek Him (Hebrews 11:6).
  3. Silence that voice of depression that keeps you grounded in that state of lack. Depression will prevent you from fully receiving and manifesting God’s promise for your life. It will also hinder you from confessing God’s word concerning your situation, limiting your chances of even asking God for help. This is evident as the Bible says, “A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones” highlighting how depression causes brokenness in spirit”.

Conclusion

Everyone needs God’s help and it’s a pity if you make no time for God or give Him no reverence in your daily live and pursuits in general. Family lives are becoming sour, coupled with divorces on the rise because Christ has been relegated to the last division and the fear of God is overlooked. This is why you need to say to yourself ‘it is either God or nothing’.

Turn to the ultimate way for help and support. We all need help, regardless of who we are or our social status. While we all need help, the source and types are common. Seek God continually and His help. The earlier you do, the better.
