Safety in a world plagued by wars, natural disasters, and various calamities, presents a natural tendency to wonder and ask: Am I safe?
This question is valid, but are we asking from the right places? Regardless of where the question is asked, there is one assuring answer that, we are safe but in just one place. There is assurance of safety, but only in Christ Jesus. He assures us that though we appear to perish by famine, diseases, earthquakes and wars, our inward man is continually renewed as the Bible says in 2 Corinthians chapter 4 verse 16. Our inward man is renewed because we build resilience, and receive renewed hope from our maker, that His prophecies are true and He is soon coming for us. What then are our safety concerns though we have assurances from our maker?
Safety Concerns
Wars have left their victims devastated, leading to homelessness, famine, poverty, separation from loved ones, and the loss of jobs and livelihoods. Many find themselves trapped, feeling hopeless and constantly threatened by an uncertain future. Tomorrow’s survival is precarious due to the instability of the world’s failing economies, shifting policies, ongoing international rivalries, moral decay, and rising violence.
Climate change and Environmental disasters like hurricanes, flood and wildfires; global health crises like pandemics, uncertain access to healthcare in many parts of the world; food and water insecurity; economic inequality which is worsening poverty, leaving large portions of the global population vulnerable to exploitation; rise of extremism and terrorism among others contribute to safety concerns.
Even technological advancements have contributed to the chaos, creating new insecurities in the digital realm. In a world thrown into confusion and conflict, where can we find refuge? Who do we turn to? And are those we seek for safety even secure themselves?
Reasons for the Safety Concerns
The Bible provides numerous explanations for present-day suffering, including wars and natural disasters like earthquakes. These events are not random but are signs of the end times, meant to precede the second coming of Christ. Unfortunately, many are unaware of this and instead place blame on governments and policymakers because they lack knowledge of the scriptures. However, the prophecies and evidence of these events are clearly laid out in the Bible here.
These prophecies are not intended to instill fear, but rather to encourage preparedness. As the saying goes, “To be forewarned is to be forearmed.” The Bible also teaches that “My people perish for lack of knowledge.” To avoid perishing, we must seek the safest refuge—found in understanding and following God’s word
Where is the safety guaranteed?
Our only safety lies in seeking refuge in our Creator, who promises to protect and guide us through these tumultuous times. Despite the chaos around us, we can find solace knowing that our faith and trust in Him will not be in vain. In times of fear and uncertainty, we must turn to prayer and seek His divine intervention. It is through our unwavering belief in His power and His ability to bring peace amidst turmoil that we can find true safety. May we find comfort in the knowledge that our loving Father is always watching over us, ready to provide shelter in the storm.
Furthermore, our procurement processes are superior, leading us to firmly believe that the current hardships we face will ultimately result in an everlasting sense of honor. We are convinced that the glory that awaits us in the future greatly surpasses the temporary sufferings of the world we currently inhabit (2 Corinthians 4:17; Romans 8:18).
Conclusion
You are indeed safe if you belong to Jesus Christ and He is your Lord. Make Jesus Christ your Lord and personal Saviour and embrace safety.
